Alicia Armeli grew up on a small farm in Western New York. At seven years old, she began her writing journey as in-house editor of her own newspaper and resident storyteller to a beloved spotted cow named Red.
Growing up in an immigrant household meant many stories round the dinner table—tales of faraway lands and fascinating people that always left her aching to see the world. After attending university, her curiosity could no longer wait. She lived and sojourned in countries and cities, towns and villages, collecting years of stories waiting to be told. In the time that followed, she wore many hats by day, working as a teacher, librarian, freelance writer, and editor—all while crafting her first novel by moonlight. After multiple drafts, rejections, revisions (and sleepless nights), The Devil Will Take finally formed—but Alicia knew her adventures had only started . . . She now lives in Colorado with her husband, Jeff, and spotted cow of the canine variety, Sunka. When she’s not writing, you can find her cooking her grandmothers’ recipes, reading something equally delicious, or with her head in the clouds, dreaming up her next book. |
